Ypulse.com Announces Launch of Ypulse Books and Books Preconference at 2008 Ypulse National Mashup Conference - Insight, News and Trends for Young Adu
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 30, 2008 -- Ypulse.com, the leading independent media platform for teen media and marketing professionals, in partnership with publisher Modern Media, today announced the launch of Ypulse Books, www.books.ypulse.com and the Ypulse Books/Publishing Preconference at the 2008 Ypulse National Mashup conference, http://mashup.ypulse.com/agenda_books.php.
Ypulse Books is a blog and newsletter that covers books for children and young adults. It provides insight on what children and young adults read, the latest trends in how books are marketed to youth, and efforts to increase youth literacy. Launch sponsors include Hachette Book Group USA and Orange Avenue/Zest publishers. The addition of Ypulse Books marks Ypulse's continued expansion and commitment to covering the youth marketing space. "The YA publishing space is incredibly hot right now both in terms of books being sold and optioned for TV and movies as well as characters being licensed for all kinds of products," said Anastasia Goodstein, Ypulse founder and editor. "This is an area of coverage our audience told us they wanted more of, and we have responded with Ypulse Books."
"At Ypulse Books we really try and explore and discover what motivates young readers and the artists that write for them," said Alli Decker, Editor, Ypulse Books. "Yes, we share news and current events in the field, but what we really want to do is bring to light the forces that enable movement in this wonderful genre. We are experiencing a huge shift in the world of YA. It's a really exciting time. Ypulse Books wants to be there as both a participant and an observer, recording the conversation but also actively contributing as well."
In addition to adding the Ypulse Books channel, Ypulse also added a book and publishing preconference to the the 2008 Ypulse National Mashup. The Books pre-conference takes place in San Francisco on July 14 (the whole conference continues through July -15.) The Ypulse Books/Publishing Preconference will provide librarians, authors, publishers, and educators a unique perspective on the young adult and children's publishing industry.
"For a lot of us, we eat, sleep, and breath, young adult literature, but we know it's changing every day," said Alli Decker, Editor, Ypulse Books. "It will be so exciting to exchange information, resources and especially ideas about the new developments on the YA horizon."
